Graves Youth Theatre (GYT)
In the short time that GYT has existed, it has performed 10 times to over 500 people; and won a Sheffield Youth Award for Culture and Heritage Nov 2025.
“Through performance the group tackle complex historical narratives with sensitivity and passion giving a platform to voices history has too often left behind. The judges said this group undertake demonstrably successful activities which engage young people with history. The work on railways is really unique and ties together creativity and history brilliantly.”
Location: Graves Park Pavilion, Cobnar Rd, Norton Lees, Sheffield S8 8QA.
(NB: Rehearsal space is currently not wheelchair accessible.)
Sessions: 6.30 – 8.30 pm on Tuesdays.
(Has a waiting list for Thursdays during school term time.)
GYT gives young people free high quality drama/performance opportunities.

“I am George Stephenson”
GYT’s first production, created by the young people of Graves Youth Theatre (GYT) and Paul Whitfield.
It was a humorous look at the life of George Stephenson is touring in Oct/Nov 2025.
Audience members described the performances as “brilliant and unusual” and “stonking”.
